Secret revealed...

 

Knitted christmas- gifts are often wanted among my family and friends. Here`s one of three baggy hats I`ve made this year - so far. I`m planning two more. The pattern is from the pattern in the Marius- sweather. I think I`m gonna make one for myself as well :)

A really fast knit with thick yarn and thick knitting-needles.

Yarn along, one day too late...

 Yarn Along at Ginny`s is on wednesday`s but time passes so very fast, so for me;  it is today :)
I sometimes read two books at a time. After I recently started to read biographies, I always read two books. I guess it`s because I`m more used to read fiction/novels, and need more breaks from boigraphic books. The two I`m reading now is Joachim C Fest`s biography about Hitler. I`m very interested in WW2, so this is an interesting book for me. Hitler was a difficult person loooong before he made it to the tops politically. The novel is "People of the books" by Geraldine Brooks.

The knitting- project is going to turn into a bolero....someday....I think...

I`ve knitted another pair of socks for Mathias. As you can see I  had to use some left-over yarn (white) on the toe on both socks, actually a bit annoying that I was sooo close to have enough yarn for the socks...oh, well...

Mittens

Autumn and dark outside. What is better than curling up in the couch with a lot of pillows and watch some cartoons? I`ve knitted mittens for two 3- year old girls as christmas-presents. I`ve used left-over yarn and they were a fast knit! I sowed the flowers on afterwards, I learned how here. The pattern was found in the book "Strikkelyst".

For a 1- year old boy

Je driver med så mye samtidig at det går ei stund mellom hver gang je fullfører noe helt. Men her er det da endelig noe! Ullbukse i dobbelt tråd Drops Delight, pinne nr 3 1/2 og 4. Str 12/18 mnd. Denne er ment som en julegave, men je funderer på om det kanskje blir en bursdagsgave i stedet. Han som skal få den blir nemlig 1 år en måneds tid før jul :) Oppskrift finner du her.

I often knit and crochet on several things at the same time, and that`s why I don`t finish so often... But here`s  wool-trousers/pants for a little boy soon celebrating his first birthday! Yarn: Drops Delight, knitting-needles 3,5 and 4. Size 12/18 months. Pattern here. You can choose language.

Visit

My sister came on a short visit today. This is two of her three dogs. They love to be close to and ON people all the time. The red one, Lizzie, was standing in my lap most of the time, so I had to be a little careful...Cozy :)

Yarn along

Following Small Things`Yarn along. I`m knitting socks (as always this time a year..), I`m nearly done with wool-pants for a 1- year old boy (x-mas gift), and I`m almost done with my tunic that I started  about......2 years ago....For some reason I put it away when I only had 10 cm left. The knitting is done, so it won`t be long before I finish the last details....I think. The book I`m reading is "The kindly ones" by Jonathan Littell. I`ve actually been reading this for a couple of years as well. It`s a book with almost a thousand pages and almost no chapters. This and the fact that it`s a book about the horible actions during WW2, is probably the reason that it takes me so long to read it. It`s a good book though, and well written.

Busy times

 Tia går og je har fått gjort fælt lite håndarbeid. Sia sist har je jobba veldig, veldig mye. Akkurat avslutta en periode med 9 dager i strekk. Har også passa bikkja til mamma og pappa ei hælj (mens je jobba selvfølgelig). Je har også jobba ei hælj backstage for mine kompiser i Joker Event. Artistene je jobba med denne gangen var Åge (Aleksandersen) & Sambandet, Team Me, Byraaet og The Wombats (Tord, bassisten, er jo fra Elverum. Bildet under).  Meeeen...je har da fått gjort ferdig sokkene til Mathias da, så er det klart til kaldere tider.

I`ve had a really busy period now, spending most of my time at my job as a midwife. I haven`t had much time for handcraft. I also worked backstage for my friends in Joker Event. This time I worked with three norwegian bands and The Wombats (picture under the text). Tord is actually from Elverum, Norway where I live :)
